FAQ

Why should I use this service?
Using the #53 Marywood / U of S route and the #71 Evening City Circle North route are a safe and easy way to travel between The University of Scranton and Marywood University at no cost to students, faculty and staff. You just need to show your valid, current college ID. Using the public transit system is a great way to get off campus to go out to eat, shopping, to a job or an internship, or to the movies.

How is this different from Smart Ride?
These two routes service replace the former Smart Ride service offered by the universities; COLTS is able to provide more service options to students with two of its current routes having been only slightly revised.

Where can I catch COLTS buses?
You can catch any COLTS bus at the bus hub in the 100 block of Wyoming Avenue. However, some buses, such as the Mall Circulator, originate at the Viewmont Mall.

Is this service completely free?
No, the universities are subsidizing COLTS. Each school will reimburse COLTS based on population of each institution or based on individual ridership.

Important things to keep in mind:
The Evening City Circle route is only available in the evenings from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Friday. Keep in mind that once you get off the shuttle, it will not circle back around the route to pick you up at that particular stop for another hour. Please adjust your plans accordingly so you don’t get stuck! If you do get stuck, you can call McCarthy Cabs at 344-5000.
None of the COLTS regular daytime schedules runs the exact Evening City Circle North route.

All COLTS routes are always open to the general public.
