How Does Public Transit Affect You?
A message from Executive Director Robert Fiume:
With major cuts to public transit funding already started with the 2010-2011 state budget, we ask that you continue to share your stories of how public transit affects you so that we can share them with our legislators.
We can't convince them that the need is real and urge them to find a way to fund COLTS without your help. The public transportation crisis will have a direct effect on our capital funds and our operating programs, and therefore, a direct effect on our riders.
We want to know why you use COLTS, and why public transportation is important to you. Please send us your testimonials about your experience on COLTS. Does COLTS help you get to work, save money, keep a job, go grocery shopping, get to the doctor, feel independent, or go green? What would you do if services were cut?
Please send your stories to info@coltsbus.com.
You can also help by writing or visiting your state legislators, or by sending a letter to the editor. Now is the time to get involved so that we don't have to cut services. We must urge our legislators to find a solution.
