COVID Safety
Let’s ride safely together!
COLTS has taken extraordinary measures to keep our passengers and employees safe since the onset of COVID-19.
UPDATED April 19, 2022:
As per a TSA directive, COLTS will no longer require masks on its buses and vans. Masks are no longer required at the Lackawanna Transit Center. Please note that the CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.
TSA Statement regarding face mask use on public transportation:
Monday, April 18, 2022:
Due to today’s court ruling, effective immediately, TSA will no longer enforce its Security Directives and Emergency Amendment requiring mask use on public transportation and transportation hubs. TSA will also rescind the new Security Directives that were scheduled to take effect tomorrow. CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.
COLTS remains vigilant in the sanitization of its vehicles and property. The following measures are in place to keep you safe:
Buses and vans are ‘fogged’ every evening with a strong disinfectant that kills the COVID virus.
High-touch areas on vehicles and at the Transit Center are sanitized multiple times each day by a maintenance employee stationed at the LTC.
Drivers are provided with cleaning supplies for their vehicles.
High-touch areas at COLTS’ administrative offices are disinfected daily.
We ask that employees and passengers follow all CDC guidelines, including handwashing, social distancing, and staying home if you are experiencing any symptoms.
