Exciting Route News!
Improvements to Bus System beginning Monday, Oct. 3, 2022Some General Changes:
- All routes will run hourly now.
- All buses that used Biden Street to Franklin Ave. will now use Biden Street to Wyoming Ave., with the exception of the #41 High Works, which will use Penn Ave.
- Due to the addition of the #44 Clarks Summit, COLTS’ Demand Response service to Clarks Summit will end on Friday, Sept. 30. Demand Response was offered because the original service to Clarks Summit was canceled during COVID. Demand Response service was made available for passengers on routes that were cut or majorly rerouted.
Two New Routes
#44 Clarks Summit and #55 Shoppers’ Special#44 Clarks Summit
- Provides service to Gerrity’s, Bedford Towers, Linden Crest, South State Street and South Abington Road in Clarks Summit
- Services Keyser Oak Shopping Center, connecting with #34 Keyser Valley/Lafayette Saturday, #35 Keyser Valley weekday, #41 High Works, #55 Shoppers Special, and #71 Evening City Circle North at Keyser Oak Shopping Center
- Services Viewmont Mall, connecting with #43 Viewmont/Bangor, #55 Shoppers’ Special, #71 Evening City Circle North, and #80 Mall Circulator at Viewmont Mall.

#55 Shoppers’ Special
Replaces the #46 Mall Circulator, serving the same area in Dickson City; adds service to Keyser Oak Shopping Center
Originates at the Lackawanna Transit Center, connecting with all other routes that begin at LTC
Connects with #43 Viewmont/Bangor, #44 Clarks Summit, #71 Evening City Circle North, and #80 Mall Circulator at Viewmont Mall
Connects with #34 Keyser Valley/Lafayette Saturday, #35 Keyser Valley weekday, #41 High Works, #44 Shoppers’ Special, and #71 Evening City Circle North at Keyser Oak Shopping Center
Upgrades & Expansion
#35 Keyser Valley and #36 Lafayette are their own routes again, Monday through Friday; these routes were combined post-COVID. The current
#34 Keyser Valley / Lafayette will run on Saturdays
- #35 Keyser Valley - #34 Keyser Valley/Lafayette Saturday
- #36 Lafayette - #34 Keyser Valley/Lafayette Saturday
#41 High Works runs all trips to Giant; eliminates Dickson Ave.; odd hours service Gerrity’s first; even hours service Delaware Towers first; bus will service Penn to Wyoming; bus will use Brick to Theodore, not Oak Street
#43 Viewmont / Bangor is its own schedule; #45 Viewmont Express eliminated; more service to Viewmont Mall with addition of #55; added trips through Bangor Heights on weekdays and Saturdays
#13 Marywood / Drinker combines #14 Drinker/Chestnut and #53 Marywood / U of S; this upgraded route serves all locations covered by these two routes and runs Monday through Saturday
#31 Old Forge / Stauffer serves Golden Technologies on inbound; end of the line is now Municipal Building; all outbound trips service Price Chopper then Walmart; all inbound trips service Walmart then Price Chopper; Old Forge Express eliminated; connects with #28 Pittston and LCTA at Golden Technologies
#52 Carbondale serves Dickson Ave.; trips on “odd” hours service Meredith first and are inbound via Erie; trips on “even” hours service Erie first and are inbound via Meredith
#25 Valley View / Hilltop will service Valley View, then Skyview, then Hilltop Manor; route serves EDM Americas on three inbound trips
#28 Pittston adds York Ave. and eliminates Spring St; adds Golden Technologies as a stop; connects with #31 Old Forge and LCTA at Golden Technologies
#21 Lake Scranton / Oakmont will again serve Seymour Ave. and East Mountain Road; inbound trips return to Wyoming instead of Franklin Ave.
#12 Jessup has a change in ‘end of line’ to Jessup Park and Ride from Jessup Youth Sports Complex; one minor inbound time point change for Quincy at Pine
#11 Mid Valley Industrial Parks has a change in the ‘end of the line’ to Jessup Park and Ride from Jessup Youth Sports Complex; adds Amazon as a time point on the schedule
